Jerome accuses Mick of taking advantage of his mother. Max tells Diane that he still loved Susannah, and there were several people with good motives for wanting her dead. Ron wants Jacqui to take advantage of the opportunity that she now seems to have to gain custody of Harry - but Robbie is not impressed that she never told him she had a son.
Mick may have found someone to take Susannah's place in his bed, just as a police investigation into the discovery of her dead body begins, and Max is asked to make the formal identification. While Adele is keen to seize this opportunity to find out exactly what a corpse looks like, Ron has a theory about what happened that may be closer to the truth than he realises.

Susannah's fifth visitor regrets everything he has ever done to hurt her. He knows that although she is no longer going to marry another man, he has let her down so many times in the past, and there is now no way that she is ever going to marry him for a third time either. But is accepting that their relationship is over, and putting on a brave face, his only option?
Susannah's fourth visitor learns that there isn't going to be a wedding after all. She reminds Susannah that everyone knows she was cheated on by her husband, yet she still went ahead and put another woman through the same humiliation, causing a whole family who loved their father to have him taken away from them. For that, she deserves to die!
Susannah's third visitor has had second thoughts about marrying her, as her current carrying-on with someone else can only be an indication of what lies ahead. He has put his home on the market, and he has had a vasectomy for her - but others already know what a fool he has been to be taken in by a tired old slapper, who he now hates more than he has ever hated anyone.
Susannah's second visitor tries to convince her that she cannot really love him, and is seriously deluded, if she intends to destroy his career in the medical profession. She is only using him as an excuse not to get married, and there is no way that he is going to allow someone so cheap and nasty to threaten him.
Susannah's first visitor makes her an offer - she wants to buy back her baby, who was never officially adopted, and for whom Susannah has proved herself to be an unfit mother. But Susannah tells her she knows nothing at all about the boy, he is no longer her son, and she is a selfish, greedy cow who will only get him back over her dead body.

Bev catches Dave taking money from the safe, and gives him even more. After Jacqui talks to Darren about her suspicions of Susannah, he goes round to sleep with her again.
Sinbad moves back in with Mick, but doubts that things will ever be the same again. Jacqui becomes convinced that Susannah is having an affair with Jerome, and is not fit to look after Harry. Lindsey and Jackie can't believe that Jimmy will not be able to see a specialist for four months - but Shelley offers to lend Jackie the money to pay for him to go private.
Marty's team-mates want him off the squad, and it is up to Steve to tell him. Lindsey manages to convince Shelley that they still have a future. Mike reduces Jacqui to tears by telling her she has turned into a snob, and she wonders if she should have moved to London with Nathan when she had the chance.
Darren convinces Jimmy to agree to obtain a second opinion to ensure that he really is on the road to recovery. Barbara is planning a family trip, but Sinbad breaks her heart. Jessie loses her temper with both Kitty and Katie, and Leanne deliberately goads Jacqui with her outspoken views on baby-selling.
Shelley tries to find out what Lindsey and Dave got up to on their "lost weekend". Barbara needs reassurance on her fostering abilities, and Sinbad is willing to give it, and more. Darren is uneasy as Susannah makes it plain that she still wants him, and Victoria needs treatment for acute dopiness.

Emily is distraught, but Jimmy advises her not to try to contact Tim. Leanne thinks Christy has left her. Nisha wants to know what little difficulties Sammy is having that make her want to stay with Katie, and Helen asks Jerome a few questions about Ray.
In a special 76-minute episode, it looks as if some of the residents may be sharing a big bingo win, it looks as if Max has a lot of explaining to do when Jacqui catches him with a somewhat undressed Sammy, and it looks as if Tim's big job with Christy will be his last.......

Will Ron be jailed?
Lindsey and Kylie tearfully say goodbye to Jimmy as they leave for a new life in Newcastle. As Ron and his family prepare to leave for court, the loan company visit to sequester goods to the value of Rachel and Mike's unpaid loan. Mike resents Max's success in sending them packing because they have not obtained the necessary warrants. During the prosecution's summing-up, Ron collapses in the dock, and an ambulance has to be called.
Rachel worries that Ron may be about to do something stupid, but Mike doesn't want to call the police. Finally Ron rings, wanting to see Jacqui and Mike - but not Anthea. At the docks, he reveals the plans he has considered which involve not returning to court - but can they convince him to think again? Lindsey packs to leave for Newcastle, and reflects on her life on the Close.
When Katie turns to drink, Nisha realises that there is someone that she must call. Jimmy won't let Lindsey turn down the job she has been offered in Newcastle. After Ron and Anthea's testimonies are subjected to severe scrutiny, Mike is horrified to discover that his father has apparently done a runner rather than await the verdict.
Robbie is determined to see Ron sent down, even though this means incriminating himself. After hearing his testimony, Katie attacks him - and is mortified when he reveals to Jacqui that they slept together.
Jimmy spends a lot of time being interviewed by Nikki for her psychology project instead of repainting the shutters, as they both reflect on the occasions on which they nearly stepped off roofs. As Ron's trial for murder begins, Anthea is confronted outside the court by Robbie, who warns her to reconsider the evidence she is going to give.
Diane and Marty speak to Anthony's headmistress, and receive a lengthy insight into the school's procedures and paperwork. Anthea is told by Neil that she appears to be starting the menopause, and slaps Ron when he attributes her recent behaviour to this. Then she returns to the health centre and reduces Katie to tears with the news that Clint was an innocent victim.
Anthea fears that Robbie will make a statement to the police, and wants to tell Katie what she has found out about Clint. Only eight people turn up to Jimmy's fiftieth birthday, but he is pleased that they include one of his long-lost relatives - and he looks forward to the next fifty years, as Jackie leaves for good. Ray struggles to avoid looking pleased with himself as Neil moves out - and not only does he obtain a cheque from Max, but he gets to keep his tiles.
Robbie corners a frightened Anthea and makes her realise that he was present in the house when Ron shot Clint dead. Steve discovers that Nisha is going on holiday with a group of her mates.

Rachel is distraught when she discovers what Jimmy has drawn on the patio. Jacqui wants to get rid of Susannah's linen. Emily discovers that her present from Jessie and Ray is something she could never have guessed.......or wanted. Jimmy offers to help Nikki with her psychology project, and something sinister is left on Ron's doorstep.
Jimmy produces a history of number 10, displays newspaper cuttings obtained from the internet, and, using Ray as a template, draws the outline of a body on the patio. Jacqui's furniture arrives at Max's - including her bed, which she insists must replace Susannah's. Marty fears that he will either be suspended or be taken to court, but Diane promises to stand by him and abandon the IVF treatment. Mike and Rachel face financial ruin.

When she hears, Lindsey optimistically asks to be considered for the position of health club manager. Mike discovers that Beth's savings account is empty, Marty injures Imelda when he finds her humiliating Anthony, and Jimmy enlists Ray's help with a scheme to deter potential buyers of number 10.

Steve attempts to console Anthony, and Tim is depressed on Emily's birthday because he has been unable to get her the present he promised her.
In a special double-length episode, the strain of her abortion finally overcomes Adele, Diane refuses to accept Marty's decision, even though Brigid supports it, and Tim, with Steve's help, manages to steal Christy's recently-stocked van. But can Christy turn the tables on him?
Marty encourages Anthony to fight back against the bullies, and when he can't bring himself to, he hits Anthony as well. He also insists to Diane that they cannot afford more IVF treatment. Steve tries to borrow money from Christy to pay for it - but he refuses, and a punch-up ensues when he tells Steve that Marty was better off with Jan. Tim encourages Steve to join him in getting revenge.
Adele catches Imelda and Paige beating Anthony up again, and tells Marty. He has other problems, however, as Diane's obsession with having a baby drives the family apart - but when she tells Steve what has made her feel this way, he agrees to do all he can to help. When Christy refuses to let him in on a scam, Tim plots revenge.
Diane ignores Marty's reminders of their desperate financial position, and remains determined to have further IVF treatment. Rachel can only find one source of money to pay her loan instalment - Beth's account. Tim concludes that the only way he will be able to make a living is through crime - so Jimmy gives him some advice. Anthony has no money to give Imelda - but Paige makes him hopeful that they are not going to bully him any more.

Emily comes home early from Brussels to attempt a sex endurance record with Tim, and Jackie assures Jimmy that she won't see him out on the street.

Tim helps Steve gain revenge on Jeff, and encourages him to consider a career in larceny. Nikki encourages Rachel to confess what she has done to Mike, but she can't bring herself to tell him.
Jimmy tells Jackie that he intends to contest the Court Welfare Officer's decision and fight for custody of Wills. Diane is surprised that Brigid approves of Marty bumping up their insurance claim. Steve forces Christy to pay Tim what he owes him, and has a heated argument about the IVF treatment. Jessie goes out shopping, leaving Ray to play with a power-tool.
Ron attends his pre-trial hearing. Marty has some explaining to do, but believes a profit can still be made from their insurance claim. After pouring her heart out to Nisha, Katie decides to visit Sammy. Nikki and Neil go out - but just as mates - and Jimmy collects his thoughts as he produces an internet home-page.
Jimmy revives Tim, who feels as if he has been kicked by a donkey, and prints out some advice for him. Nisha revives Katie, and spents an all-night vigil at her bedside to make sure she survives until the morning. Diane and Marty try to figure out why their burglar called the police twice before they did.
Ray's ideas for a day out makes Jessie feel old. The break-in at the Murrays' doesn't go entirely as planned. After Steve finds her collapsed in the flat, Katie feels more and more depressed, and sees a way out of her misery in a bottle of vodka and a handful of pills.
Christy has a plan to enable the Murrays to make a valid claim from the insurance company. Tim and Mike go for job interviews - but will Tim's honesty about his past pay off? Jessie is not pleased when Nikki seems to be becoming closer with Neil, and Diane considers postponing her next IVF treatment.
Ron causes a scene when Katie refuses to let him see a doctor at the walk-in centre. Marty discovers that the insurance company will not entertain their claim because the thieves were "invited guests". Tim double-crosses Christy, and Nikki agrees to see Jerome again at the bar, but finds that he can't stop watching Nisha snogging Steve.
Marty and Diane are enraged when they come home and find Adele and Michelle in the bedroom with new boyfriends - and while they read them the riot act upstairs, the lads are thieving from downstairs....... Lance tells Leanne what Christy has been up to - but he talks his way out of it. Jimmy soon discovers that it was a mistake to try again with Jackie.
Jimmy lets Jackie know what he has decided. After receiving flowers from Robbie and unwelcome advances from Christy, Katie turns to drink. Nikki notices that Jessie has done Neil's ironing, but not Ray's.

Jacqui wakes up on the morning after her wedding and finds that Max has gone out - but she knows where to find him.
Jacqui and Max get married in style, while a miserable, drunk and lonely Katie is visited by Robbie. Clint is on Robbie's mind as he comforts her in the way his brother might have done - and also on Ron's as he makes his "father-of-the-bride" speech.
Tim tells Emily his dream, but she is not keen on the ways in which he plans to achieve it. Jacqui tries to convince Max that he is blaming himself for an accident, explains that she too could easily have been facing the same feelings of guilt, and is determined to stop him from turning himself in to the police.
The police are forced to release Robbie without charge. On Harry's birthday, Jacqui is even more sure that she needs Max to marry her, and insists that he fully explains his reasons for wanting to cancel the wedding, confident that they will not make her change her mind.......
Jimmy bruises his head while restraining Robbie, Tim collects his own reward by nicking Robbie's wallet, and Lindsey earns a wedding invitation by rescuing Harry. After seeing Max and Jacqui's closeness in a crisis, Ron gives them his blessing. But Max is having second thoughts about the wedding.

Sammy has a peace offering for Katie, but will she accept it? Let's hope so, as it's the last time we'll see them!
Sean blames Ruth for Nikki breaking up with him, and, following well-intentioned advice from others, his attempts to win her back become increasingly unsuccessful. When she finally finds him collecting her underwear for a surprise trip to Paris, she panics and seeks shelter at Jimmy's. Sean feels like a failure - and there happens to be one nearby, ready and willing to throw herself at him.......
Katie and Nic try to sort out their wedding plans, and Katie feels depressed that she has only a few friends to invite, while Nic has dozens. Hearing that Jessie and Ray are now intent on selling the bungalow as soon as possible, Sean invites Nikki to move in with him. But it's a commitment that she isn't ready for - and, irritated by Ruth's jealousy, she tells him they are finished.
Mike tries to tell Rachel how he is feeling, but she would prefer to revise for her driving theory test, and is determined that he will not mess up anything else for her. While Mike is appalled to discover Bev and Ron's adoption plans, Rachel confides in Christy about the abuse she has suffered in the past.
Rachel tells Christy that she and Mike are finished, as he doesn't want her to better herself. Christy is horrified to hear that Mike almost ran away with Jan, but promises not to tell Marty. While Mike finds it difficult to concentrate on his teaching, painful memories are reawakened for Rachel when she finds Jimmy digging up his patio.
Bev and Ron discover that they need Mike's approval in order to adopt Josh. Mike is nervous about facing a class of pupils for the first time in his teacher-training, and Jimmy offers him some advice. But when he returns to the flat and suspects that Christy is doing more with Rachel than teaching her to drive, it looks as if his marriage is over.
When she discovers that Katie has asked Jacqui to be matron of honour at her wedding, Sammy wonders if her sister was even going to invite her to be there. Josh feels that Mike never has any time for him, and thinks that Bev and Ron will also ignore him if they get married and have other children. Could the solution be for Ron to adopt him and become his father?
Josh has a temperature, and Bev is worried. The doctor prescribes steroids, and Mike wants to follow her advice - but Ron supports Bev's opinion that they should only use them as a last resort. Rachel is concerned that the DSS will catch her and Mike out if he spends too much time at her flat. There is a proposal of marriage on the Close - but from whom?

Sean's actions remind Ruth of why she originally loved him, and she tries to convince him to stay around. When Kirsty talks to Stella about her own experiences, Stella admits that she was not raped. But will she retract what she has told her mother and the police?
Ruth insists that Stuart cleans up the mess in the garden. Ali urgently needs to find a condom, but discovers the one he had earlier is already in use elsewhere. Kirsty tells Steve she is not ready to have sex yet. But 16-year-old Stella is - and then alleges that she has been raped. The lad accused panics and runs, and needs to be found....... [ Includes sex scenes ]
Stuart is keen to beat Ali and Tommo in a race to lose their virginity, but wearing aftershave that smells like disinfectant may spoil his chances, leaving the way clear for Ali....... Ruth asks Sean to have a word with Ali to try to convince him not to move out - but perhaps it is Sean that she needs more. [ Includes sex scenes and sexually explicit language ]
When Nic confronts her, Katie believes that he is just looking for a reason to leave. Sammy is forced to admit that she obtained the copy of the DNA test results, and Katie can't believe that her sister put her relationship with Nic at risk just to satisfy her curiosity, probably because she has never had as good a relationship with anyone herself. But will she put the pair out of their misery?
Nic gets a baby monitor for Katie, so that she can hear Sophie burp and fart from anywhere. But she regrets taking a break from Sophie to spend time with him, and he begins to feel that working on their new home is all he is good for - then discovers that she has apparently obtained another set of the DNA test results. Jimmy notices that a security camera has appeared on the Close, and Josh convinces Ron to think again about selling to Cinerco.
Nic is disappointed that he and Katie never seem to be able to find time to talk, sleep together, or have a night out, because Sophie is always crying and Sammy is always poking her nose in. He buys a breast pump so that they can go out for a meal for once, leaving Nikki to baby-sit. However, someone from Katie's past turns up at the restaurant, and Nikki has more bad news for them.
Brigid has made a collection for Christy, and Adele offers him her share of Diane's insurance money. But, although he persuades both Marty and Adele to re-think their plans regarding her going to university, Christy feels that he has achieved nothing over the years, admits that he has lied to everyone, and plans to commit suicide.
Adele doesn't want the Murrays to move to Leeds so that she can still live at home when she goes to university. When Marty comes home in the morning, he finds Christy drinking - and wonders why Jan didn't stop him. . But Christy wants Lance to tell Leanne something important that she doesn't know - he is dying of leukaemia.
Christy is preparing for a small, low-key wedding to Leanne - but there are going to be even fewer people at the registry office than he anticipates. Adele goes to find out her "A" level results - and Marty, about to start a new job, worries that if they are good, she will want to leave home to go to university.
Rachel is admitted to hospital, and Mike isn't going anywhere until he is sure that she is all right. But will she think again about their future together? Christy is wanting to borrow money from Marty for a stag night, as he and Leanne are getting married - but Marty is not sure that his brother is doing the right thing.
Josh wants to get an allotment so that he can invent a new rose for Bev, but bringing manure into the house might not help to persuade Ron that he is serious. Mike goes to make his peace with Rachel, but finds the house empty. By following her, he discovers that she has moved to a council flat, and is more intent on divorcing him.
While Josh is keen to find out about sexually transmitted diseases and wind, Ron encourages Mike to go and see Rachel. However, she believes they should split up, she has already spoken to a solicitor, and she is resigned to being a single mother. Will sending Jan round to try to convince her that nothing happened between her and Mike help to change her mind?
Kirsty wonders whether all men are as deceitful as her father, Ali spents the last of his money on drink, and Ruth decides that it is time that she did something to address Stuart's toilet problem. Then the girls discover that they will need a favour from Jimmy, because something has disappeared from the bathroom.......
Luke wrecks Ali's attempt to steal sausages from the kitchen, while Sean sees the irony in Ruth having two brothers in the garden wanting to come in, and a sister inside wanting to leave. Jimmy catches Ali and Stuart attempting to steal the Farnhams' toilet, then has to make his escape with them because Ruth has called out the police.
Ruth is surprised to find that Ali and Stuart have gone out early in the morning, and even more surprised when she discovers what they have stolen and brought home. She decides to give them the family allowance money they ask for, but tells them that unless they pay for their board and food they will have to sleep in the garden. So a tent goes up.......
Kirsty, Abby, Timmy and Stevie must solve the mystery of the missing money, and prevent Moaning Joan, the nasty niece, from getting her hands on it. But they are not going to be able to save the day without a little help from the ghost of Gladys.
Kirsty doesn't want to stay at home to go through her mother's things, so Steve, wondering if Tim will be able to keep his mind on the house clearance job, invites her to join them. But Gladys's niece is not pleased, especially when she discovers that she has been left nothing in her aunt's will. Abby suspects, however, that Gladys may have hidden her money somewhere in the house.
Tim and Steve feel that they must undertake another job for Hookey - the clearance of a dead woman's belongings. But they are interrupted by a next-door neighbour, alleging that the woman's niece mistreated her. Tim fancies the girl, but Steve is not convinced that she is to be believed.
Jimmy holds a residents' meeting, which goes better than he expects in creating a greater understanding of the threat facing the Close. Ron, however, is accused of splitting the community down the middle by remaining keen to sell. Can Jacqui, visiting the Close to collect Matthew and Emily's trees and take them to their new home, persuade him to think again? Meanwhile, Margi meets Sean, and reveals something he didn't know about Nikki.......
Ruth wants Sean to miss Nikki's graduation by looking after Luke while she goes to the dentist - not that she is being deliberately obstructive, of course. So Sean sends Jimmy to attend in his place, despite Margi's objections. But both Jimmy and Nikki try to assure her that he never led her on, and he would never ever do anything to hurt her - will Margi be convinced?
Staying with Ron after Rachel throws him out, Mike is missing Beth - but Jan is back home with Marty. Jimmy discovers that Cinerco plan to demolish two of the houses on the Close and built a through-road. Nikki is getting ready for her graduation, but Margi is not pleased when she finds out that her new boyfriend has a child whose mother lives next door, and that Nikki has been sleeping with someone else.......
Mike tries to persuade Jan to go away with him - but she won't let him walk out on his young family, as his approach of taking the easy option is how she ended up missing out on eleven years with her children and husband. Jimmy reveals to Nikki new information he has discovered about Cinerco, but finds that Ron is not the only one who may take the company up on their offer.
Marty apologises to Anthony for letting Jan come back and walk out on them again - while Jan and Mike talk about the mad ideas everyone gets from time to time, and he agrees to drive her on to Salford. But a shock awaits him when he returns to their bedroom in the B&
Jan leaves Marty, although Mike, her taxi-driver, tries to persuade her that she is doing the wrong thing by walking out on her family. Then she discovers that he is in the process of doing exactly the same thing. They both feel guilty, but end up in a B&
Marty feels that Anthony will probably have to change schools again. Anthony dumps Elena, and blames Jan for giving him bad advice - and, although Marty withdraws his objections to her past promiscuity, she is still not happy. Elena wants to know all the details of how Anthony killed Imelda, promises not to tell anyone, and assures him that she still wants to go out with him. But soon everyone else in the school knows....... Adele finds something incriminating in Jan's wardrobe, which leads to a furious row between Jan and Marty.
